I'm Pregnant

We are finally having a baby! Our dreams came true!

On June 14, 2012 at 10:45am I found out that I was pregnant and expecting my first child with my husband Zachery. The night before the doctor's visit I was so excited that I could hardly sleep. Once I  awoken that morning thoughts of "I'm going to be a Mommy"began to circle in my head. I then started researching pregnancy symptoms and was trying to self diagnose myself. Next I explored the website www.thebump.com and could not wait to create my own baby profile.
Once the time came for the appointment I calmly waited to see how the visit would go. I initially scheduled the doctor's for just an annual physical but knew that there might be a chance that it might be more than just your average visit. Zach and I began trying to conceive only a month ago after our 5 wedding anniversary and my period was late.
Well as soon as the doctor came in she asked me if my husband and I were trying to conceive I said yes. Then she asked well congratulations you are pregnant. She explained that I was five week along and two days. Little baby "Rogers" will be due February 12, 2013. I was so excited that I began crying right on the spot. I knew that I wanted to surprise Zach so I immediately began planning a fun way to tell him the wonderful news. The hardest part was waiting all day to tell him until he came home from work.
Once I left the doctor's office I went to Babies R' Us and picked out a girl and boy onesie set for the reveal. When I arrived at Babies R' Us I parked in the Expecting Mother's parking spot with pride because well... I am expecting. Next I went to Barnes and Nobles to get some baby books and advice. I purchased the typical pregnant book... What to Expect When You Are Expecting. Then I went to Public and bought a dozen cupcakes to decorate and a few pacifiers for the whole baby on the way effect. I was so happy to finally begin working on the surprise! I decorated our living room coffee table with all the goodies and then waited till Zach would arrive home. I also pulled out our baby pictures and added other little elements below for the whole effect.
When Zach got home he was very shocked and happy :) but he sort of had a feeling that I was due because everyday leading up to the doctors appointment he would kindly ask did you get your period. Then he would smile and laugh and say well than you are pregnant. As a couple we are so excited and now we are actively trying to create a creative way to inform both sides of the parents the wonderful news. So shhh... don't spoil the surprise. :) Below are the pictures that outlined the whole amazing event.
